Job description
Key objective of the Global Tax Director is to develop the corporate tax strategy, manage tax risks and monitor compliance with regional tax legislations on a worldwide level interacting actively with regional CFOs, their finance staff responsible for tax matters and external consultants. Create methodology and reporting channels to monitor tax compliance in each region and build relationships with key stakeholders in all geographic regions.


Responsible for leading, directing and monitoring all tax activities to ensure tax compliance for domestic and international operations.
Manage the company’s global tax strategy planning initiatives.
Manage existing projects related to corporate restructuring and acquisitions.
Optimize the company’s use of external consultants (e.g. by ensuring questions are concise and not duplicated in various regions).
Identify the main risks associated with the tax function; implementation of risk mitigating steps.
Review proposed major transactions in their formative stages, and advise, or propose, changes consistent with the overall business purpose and strategy to achieve the best tax result.
Direct and monitor the preparation of tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and/or foreign tax laws.
Monitor new legislation development and provide management with the most up-to-date and accurate information on new legislative developments in all areas of taxation (suggest tax mitigating steps, ensure tax compliance).
Work collaboratively with all external tax/audit firms to achieve deadlines while comply with all tax regulations and optimizing tax strategies.
Manage and direct all tax audits as they arise.
Deal with tax disputes.
Develop strong credible relations with tax authorities and other relevant governmental bodies
Direct, manage, and supervise other tax team member (s) and provide opportunities for their professional growth and development
Responsible for leading, directing and monitoring all activities related to the preparation, review and approval of company contracts with specific responsibility for ensuring financial terms are reviewed and approved in all sales and material procurement contracts.
Manage the HQ Contracts Group and provide opportunities for their professional growth & development.

Desired Skills and Experience
Work Experience:

Completed degree (BA, MSc, MA, PhD) in BA Hons Economics and Law
Additional education (trainings/ certifications) in Tax specialization – Chartered Tax Advisor (CT
Minimum 10 years of experience in tax advisory area with at least 5 years in industry preferably high tech.
Minimum 3 years of experience in managing a tax function.
Minimum 10 years experience in tax accounting practice or financial role
Strong tax technical understanding
Hands-on experience gained in an international environment
Tax planning implementation experience
Transfer pricing planning and documentation experience
Exposure to a broad range of tax issues especially on an international and global level
Experience of liaising at a senior level across the group whilst retaining the hands on control of tax when necessary.
